Summer concerts in Lancaster PA bring the season to life with events you can plan around, from free outdoor series to big-name performances and relaxed lawn nights under the stars.
These are some of our favorite must-see summer concerts:
Outdoor Garden Concert Kickoff
Held in a garden setting with laid-back summer energy on May 17th, this 3-hour Yacht Rock Concert starts at 6:30 pm and sets the tone for the entire season. While it’s not free, it’s pay as you wish. It’s held at the Mary Oehme Gardens in Lititz.
Free Outdoor Concert Series
Lancaster County is known to fill its parks, lawns, and open spaces with music throughout the summer. Many concerts are free, making it simple to show up and enjoy without a schedule or expectation. The atmosphere is easy, breezy (literally).
Long’s Park Summer Music Series (Free)
This is a summer concert series in Lancaster that the locals never miss. Long’s Park Summer Music Series runs every Sunday from June 7 through August 23, 2026. This summer kicks off with Parker Barrow and continues weekly with a mix of touring acts and standout bands. Every Fourth of July, there is also a Patriotic concert, which includes a military band, flag presentations from veterans in our community, a fireworks display and drone show. It’s one of the most well-attended concerts every year, and 2026 should be no exception as we celebrate our nation’s 250th birthday. You can check the concert lineup here.
Greenfield Summer Concert Series (Free)
Greenfield’s Summer Concert Series is a more curated outdoor concert experience with a fun, themed vibe. Come early to hit the food trucks before the crowds. Also, while these concerts are free, Greenfield encourages RSVPs. On that website link you’ll see the lineup, as well as details on parking and concert guidelines.
Local Bands and Big-Name Performances
The range of summer concerts in Lancaster PA is part of what makes them worth seeking out. One night might feature a local band playing a familiar mix of songs that feel close to home. Another might bring in a larger act that draws a crowd and shifts the energy. Each show offers something a little different.
Here are some bigger name concerts worth planning around. Most of these take place at the American Music Theatre. Check out the schedule and purchase tickets here. You’ll see everything from The Beach Boys, to Diana Ross, to Jo Dee Messina, and more!
There are also several festivals in Lancaster this summer that fold live music into the experience, such as the Strawberry Festival on June 13th.
The Sweet Summer Festival on July 4th includes live music, a corn eating contest, and fireworks at Cherry Crest Farm. Admission is required for entry to the farm and its activities.
Make the Night Your Own
A summer concert in Lancaster PA can anchor your evening or simply be part of it. Start with dinner at a local spot, do a little Lancaster shopping, or stroll through a nearby town before the music begins. Lancaster County has a way of making even simplest plans feel meaningful.
As the night winds down, return to the E.J. Bowman House where its history and modern comforts offer a gentle shift from the energy of the crowd and a place to recharge for next day adventures.
